Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Linetrap. The service is provided as-is, free of charge for individual use, with a paid Pro plan described below. No legal entity information is published yet — these terms describe the arrangements that will apply when they are.

Use of Service

Linetrap is a stateless JSON diagnostic tool provided as-is. The tool parses JSON text or fetches a URL and reports parse error locations. The current Free plan requires no account, registration, or payment. The service is provided for convenience and is not guaranteed to be uninterrupted or error-free.

No Data Collection

Linetrap does not collect, store, or process any user data. JSON text pasted into the browser is parsed locally and never transmitted. Fetched URL responses are returned to the visitor and immediately discarded. No logs are kept.

Billing

Plans

Linetrap offers two plans:

• Free — $0/forever. Includes all current diagnostic functionality: paste JSON client-side, fetch a URL up to 50 KB with a 15-second timeout, pinpoint parse errors. No account required.
• Pro — $9/month (planned for late 2026). Will include a 500 KB response body limit, 30-second fetch timeout, API key for programmatic access, and usage tracking with monthly quota.

Billing period

Pro subscriptions are billed monthly in advance. The first charge occurs at sign-up and each subsequent charge on the same day of the following month. There is no annual option at this time.

Failed payments

If a payment fails (card declined, expired, insufficient funds, or processor error), access to Pro features will be suspended. The subscription will be retried automatically up to three times over the following week. If all retries fail, the subscription is cancelled and Pro features are revoked. The customer will not be charged again unless they update their payment method and manually re-subscribe.

Refunds

All Pro charges are non-refundable, except where required by applicable law. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us using the details below within 14 days of the charge and we will review your case.

Payment processor status

No payment processor is currently connected. This means no payment can be accepted today. The Pro plan, checkout form, and billing terms above describe the product and pricing that will apply once payment processing is operational. Until then, the Free plan is the only available option and remains fully functional.

Intellectual Property

The Linetrap name, logo, and site design are offered as a service. You may use the tool for any lawful purpose. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or resell the service or its components.

Limitation of Liability

This tool is provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied. In no event shall the provider be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability arising from the use of the service.

Governing Law

The governing law and jurisdiction for any disputes will be specified when the business details are finalised. Currently, this section is being prepared.
